Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window

A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.

"The jet touched down based on standard protocol and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative stated in a online announcement.

Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.

This incident isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington after experiencing a mechanical problem.
