A person who contaminated treats with tranquilliser and gave them to minors at a summer camp in the area has admitted sexual crimes against two children who were nine and 10.
The accused was detained after eight youngsters and one adult became sick at the facility in July.
The elderly man, from the Nottinghamshire area, confessed to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the judicial center on Friday.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was charged with, which was involving a nine-year-old child.
The defendant was remanded in custody prior to a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Sweet game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, detailed the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.
She said his victims were under-privileged children who were staying at a youth camp which he ran.
The defendant engaged in a "sweet game" with the minors, the legal counsel stated, in which he would enter the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".
She stated to the judge the defendant had played this game with the children "repeatedly", and minors had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She said the defendant had been able to explain this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepchild had suspicions in recently.
The legal representative added: "This year his family member had suspicions about the situation, for good reason.
"They chose" to examine in the defendant's belongings."
Mrs Prior KC said materials including lubricant, Vaseline and injection devices were found, and his stepson alerted the police about his concerns.
She explained the man proceeded to engage in the "treat game" with six children that night - that Saturday - and they were all ill the next day.
"Law enforcement" had not arrived by that point," she continued.
The police watchdog, the police conduct office, previously told that it was examining the police response of the incident.
The prosecutor explained the children were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so the family member called the authorities again.
She said the man then conducted the "candy game" in a space of five children.
