Rugby league's authority has declared that participants who join the “breakaway” R360 will be banned for 10 seasons.

The proposed competition, set to start in 2026, is aiming to attract rugby union and rugby league players with substantial agreements and a condensed playing schedule.

Leading rugby league players have reportedly received offers by R360, which will involve multiple men's sides and four women's sides located in large metropolitan areas around the world.

Representing Samoa the rugby star, who is with his NRL club in the competition, has confirmed he has had discussions with R360.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Payne Haas and Gray are also believed to be thinking about signing R360.

Eight major union nations, such as Australia, last week declared a ban on players joining R360 participating in test matches.

“We have consulted our franchises and we've acted decisively,” stated ARLC chairman the official.

“Sadly, there will continually be organizations that seek to pirate our code for potential financial gain.

“They avoid funding in development systems or the development of athletes. They merely capitalize on the dedication of existing bodies, putting players at risk of financial loss while benefiting financially.

“They are, in reality, copying the game.”

The organization is established by former England World Cup winner Tindall and supported by independent financiers.

Following the potential rugby union sanctions were revealed recently, it stated: “We seek to cooperate together as integrated into the worldwide fixture list.

“The event is designed with tailored timetables for both genders and the organization will release all players for global fixtures, as included in their contracts.”

The breakaway group will request authorization for its plans from World Rugby, the sport's governing body, at its council meeting next year.
