Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The event will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
