Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "any day without mirth".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a distinct piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to block the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A court order issued a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the active case.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

After the killings, public figures shared different responses.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by several individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his perspective to the critics last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan labeled the statements as "disturbing" and suggested they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an adviser could have intervened when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
